Finalmente, aquí están los esperados resultados de la convocatoria anual de los mejores discos del año pasado. Se incluyen las participaciones hasta la aparición del número 544.

Hemos conseguido de nuevo otro record de participación, en total 45 votantes (hace un año fueron 36), de los cuales, todos menos dos, han mostrado sus votos en las páginas de LCDM.

Aclarar también, que todos los que no han votado sus discos en orden preferencial, tal como estaba previsto, finalmente me han enviado personalmente sus listas debidamente ordenadas, previo aviso de mi parte.

En el resultado final aparecen algunos discos pertenecientes al 2002, que algunos participantes han creido conveniente incluir en su lista, por ejemplo el Timeloss de Paatos y el In Absentia de Porcupine Tree que precisamente fue el vencedor hace un año.

Recordemos que el sistema de puntuación ha sido el siguiente:

5 puntos para el 1º.
4 puntos para 2º y 3º.
3 puntos para 4º, 5º y 6º
2 puntos para 7º, 8º, 9º y 10º
1 punto del 11º en adelante

De esta lista cabe resaltar la victoria de Opeth, cuando hace un año nadie pensaba que esta banda pudiera ganar nunca unas votaciones en LCDM. Y en la parte negativa, resaltar el absoluto fracaso del proyecto OSI, de Moore, Portnoy y compañia, a pesar de contar con una gran promoción y estar formado por músicos reconocidos, y el total hundimiento de los nuevos Spock's Beard.

En cuanto a bandas muy conocidas como Arena y Dream Theater, han obtenido resultados muy inferiores a lo habitual en ellos, aunque finalmente han resistido a una mayor debacle.
