Samsara es la segunda publicación de los Alicantinos Numen, pero la
primera que ve la luz en formato CD, precedida por la maqueta en cassette
"Birth". Es un álbum conceptual que se centra en la relación
que el ser humano tiene con el Universo. Samsara viene del sánscrito
y quiere decir "rueda de reencarnaciones"; este título responde a una
forma de entender el Universo como un todo que constantemente se recicla.
La obra contiene 9 temas, y cada uno de ellos describe algún aspecto
característico y vital del hombre. Con "Introitus" y "Genesis", por
ejemplo, Numen pretende ahondar en las raíces y en los
orígenes
del Cosmos y de la Humanidad. Otro tema, como es "Lady Time", de lo que nos
habla es de la propia vejez y de la muerte de cada individuo. El resto de
composiciones hacen referencia a diversos temas tales como la necesidad de
libertad, amor y paz.
Musicalmente, Samsara es una obra, cuya duración ronda la hora, que
puede quedar enmarcada dentro de los límites de un sinfonismo
melódico, en ciertos momentos suave y lírico, y en otros
más descriptivo y reflexivo.
El disco fue grabado en Alicante en 1997 y se ha editado de forma
independiente en 1998 a través del propio estudio de
grabación.

Samsara is the second release of the band from Alicantine Numen, but the
first CD album. The first one was a demo only released in cassette format,
named "Birth". Samsara is conceptual album focused in the relation between
the human being and the Universe. Samsara is a sanscrit word meaning
"re-incarnation wheel"; this title regards a way to understand the Univers
as a whole that is constantly recycling itself. Samasara has 9 themes, each
one describing an issue inherent and vital to the Man. With "Introitus" and
"Genesis",
for instance, Numen seeks into the roots and origins of Cosmos and Humanity.
"Lady Time", is about eldery and death of each individual. The other
compositions refer to topics such as the need of freedom, peace and love.
Musically, Samsara is an opus, about 60 minutes long, that can be considered
inside the boundaries of a melodic symphonism, sometimes soft and lyric and
other descriptive and reflexive. The recording was in Alicante in 1997 and
it has been released independently in 1998 through the recording studio
itself.
