Doble álbum de la banda catalana Amarok, liderada por el multi
instrumentista y compositor Robert Santamaría, que nos vuelven a
ofrecer su particular mezcla del folk, World Music y el rock
sinfónico/progresivo, enriquecido por la gran multitud de
instrumentos orientales, tan extraños en el rock progresivo como el
Kanun, el Bouzouki griego, Oud, Saz, Santur y la kalimba. Destaca el tema
que abre el disco, un aviso planetario ante lo que se nos avecina, la
inteligencia artificial. El disco incluye 2 versiones de "Mujer Luna"
(2000) y "M'Goun" del disco "Tierra de Especias" 2002. Destacan
además el segundo tema "Permafrost", destacable por su progresividad
o "Gunung Padang" al contrario, por su Folk/World music, pero siempre de
trasfondo el gusto por mezclar, fusionar y cambiar de ritmos. La
introspectiva "El Abrazo Del Árbol" o la versión de "M'Goun", este
tema más inquietante, con una excelente cortina de fondo atmosférica
creada por el Oud y los teclados para continuar con un pasaje cantado
alegre, oriental y rítmico, un poco alejado de las estructuras
acostumbradas en Amarok. Para acabar, encontramos el largo tema "Madre Agua" de casi 16
minutos. En definitiva, lo han vuelto a hacer, un nuevo gran trabajo de
Amarok.

Double album by the Catalan band Amarok, led by the multi-instrumentalist
and composer Robert Santamaría, who once again offer us their
particular mixture of folk, World Music and symphonic/progressive rock,
enriched by the great multitude of oriental instruments, so strange in
progressive rock, such as the Kanun, the Greek Bouzouki, Oud, Saz, Santur
and the kalimba. The opening track of the album stands out, a planetary
warning of what is coming, artificial intelligence. The album includes 2
versions of "Mujer Luna" (2000) and "M'Goun" from the album "Tierra de
Especias" (2002). The second track "Permafrost", remarkable for its
progressiveness, or "Gunung Padang" on the contrary for its Folk/World
music, but always in the background the taste for mixing, fusing and
changing rhythms. The introspective "El Abrazo Del Árbol" or the
version of "M'Goun", this theme more disturbing, with an excellent
atmospheric background curtain created by the Oud and keyboards to continue
with a cheerful, oriental and rhythmic sung passage, a little far from the
usual Amarok structures. To finish, we find the long theme "Mother Water"
of almost 16 minutes. In short, they have done it again, a new great work
of Amarok.
