For me, this one is not yet another disc, but one of my favorite progressive albums of last decade, if not my favorite at all, so I have it in a high plae. Almost everybody knows already the North Americans Djam Karet, so it's not necessary to give too many explanations abot this band. Simply, I recommend you to buy this album as soon as possible, if you don't have it yet.

The references are as always, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, connections with Edhels, Minimum Vital and Ozric Tentacles, besides Brian Eno, fusion, Tangerine Dream, ethnic music, etc., but above all Djam Karet's strong personality.

The track list is spectacular. Real band's classics as "Night of the Mexican Goat Sucker", "Forbidden by Rule", "Lost but not Forgotten", "Room 40", "Old Soldiers ' Disease", "Lights over Roswell", "The Pinzler Method" or "The River of no Return". A parade of rocker passages, strong rhythms, the remarkable mellotron work, combination of melodies and aggressiveness, Gayle Ellett's exhibitions with his guitar, incursions of electro-ambient sounds, ethnic percussions, etc, etc.

Summarizing. A long work (70 minutes), in which even a second is in excess. In my opinion, an absolutely essential, and one of the great progressive rock albums of the 90's.

Rating: 10/10
