We are witnessing an embodiment of an idea that is represented to me far
from any imagined predisposition of what was going to be this new work of my
admired Atila.
The trepidante and chaotic of King Crimsonian reminiscences
"Encarnació Part A" is very remarkable. It is followed by the second
part with the protagonism of the vocal duo that could remind us of a cross
between Ayreon and Amarok, far from the sound of Reviure's Atila.
After the Arabic-Andalusian instrumental "Dansa del dátil Daurat",
with the participation of keyboardist Juanma RodrÃguez from the heavie band
Sherish, bassist José Ramón Torres from Storm and guitarist
Andrés Olaegui from Guadalquivir.
"Retorn" is an improvised and experimental track with jazz rock and funky
undertones with a great work in the rhythm section of drums by Joan Punyet
as in all the tracks.
Summer night with crickets included and acoustics announce us "Estranya
Màgia". Now helping the duo Punyet / Castarnelas, Víctor
Mateos "Willy" (keyboards), Mike Starry (bass and guitars, from Omni) and
C´sar Ortiz (vocals). The only song sung (always in Spanish) together
with the second part of "Encarnació-Suite". In a certain way it
connects with it in symphonic hard rock force of unquestionable elegance.
With a final guitar hendrixiana that gets a very special and welcome vintage
touch.
The album ends with the historical Benet Nogué, composing and playing the
piano in "Volada". He is accompanied by the synthesizers of "Willy". THis
track reminds of the old Atila, in a emotional and very inspired moment.
Benet Nogué should had participated more in my opinion.
